Route 26/47 Jönköping – Mullsjö, between Månseryd – Mullsjö

The purpose of why it's being built

Route 26/47 is an important regional road for the long-distance traffic, but also important as a daily commute between eg Mullsjö / Southeast Skaraborg and Jönkoping. The road has no meeting separation, is narrow and has poor profile standard. The road has a lot of traffic and the proportion of heavy traffic is large. The risk of accidents is high and the accessibility is poor during peak hours.

About the project

Construction and conversion of the 17 km long section of route 26/47 between Månseryd and Mullsjö into a 2+1 lane road with centre railing. In the section between Månseryd and Risbro there will mainly be a conversion of the existing road and between Risbro and Mullsjö new road will be built parallel to the old one. The entire route is designed with level intersections. For most parts the existing road will be kept as local road and where the old road is converted a new local road will be built.

The object is located in the southern part of Sweden between Månseryd, about 6 km northwest of Jönköping, and Mullsjö. See map below.
