On June 22-24, 2015, the 5th Fish Passage Conference was held for the first time in Europe, in the city of Groningen, The Netherlands.
During 2014 we removed 18 small dams in the north of Sweden to benefit fish migration in streams. This video shows how the work was done.
In September, participants from Remibar traveled to Finland to study how they are working to restore the streams.
The project Remibar has during the summer remediated several barriers within all catchment areas, the river Lögdeälven, the river Sävarån, the river Varjisån, the river Råneälven and the river Ängesån.
The project Remibar have movement sensitive cameras at each built otter passage. They show that a lot of animals use our passages and we have caught fox, mink, squirrel and a lot of birds on picture. But for the first time, the otter shows up on photo.
