Prequalification for construction contract Centralen coming up
The work with the procurement of contractors for construction of the West Link Project has started. From the 15th of April, it is possible to submit a tender application for the construction contract Centralen.
In the middle of April, the Swedish Transport Administration will invite contractors to prequalify for the construction contract Centralen. This means that you are applying for the right to submit a tender for the contract. The construction contract Centralen is one of six main contracts in the West Link Project. Five of the contracts are based on a geographical subdivision of the route. In addition, there is a general contract for BEST works (Track, Electrical, Signal and Telecom).
The contract Centralen includes construction of the West Link's Station Centralen with two platforms and four tracks, and tunnel construction. Both station and tunnel are made in concrete built in open shafts within temporary supporting constructions. The construction contract stretches from the bridge west of the E6 highway, through Gullberget under the Skansen Lejonet fortlet, up until the new Station Centralen placed just north of Gothenburg Central Station.
– Contract Centralen will be procured as a turnkey contract. We are using a business form which makes the contractor involved at an early stage of the project – as early as the design stage. This is why we start the procurement already. Since the formal process is still in progress, the work with the contract will of course be conditional to the necessary granting of permits and decisions, says Lillian Brunbäck, Procurement Manager for the West Link Project.
The final date to submit the tender application is the 15th of August 2015. Application can be made via our procurement system CTM from the 15th of April 2015.
