New award to JV Vianini CMC to build the rock tunnels under Lovön

The SwedishTransport Administration has made a re-evaluation of the previous received tenders and has decided to once again award JV Vianini CMC the two rock tunnel contracts, FSE 302 and 308.

The first award was appealed, arguing that the the italian contractor JV Vianini in joint venture with CMC haven´t shown enough proof that they possesses the necessary skills to qualify. The SwedishTransport Administration then decided to withdraw the awards of the contracts, ask for some clarifications and do a re-evaluation.

The two contracts for the rock tunnels in Norra and Södra Lovö includes two access tunnels, two temporary jetties, ramptunnels and main tunnels under Lovön, the middle part of the Stockholm Bypass. Start of construction is planned in spring 2016 and the building period is about six years.

The total contract value of the works is about 4 billion SEK.

The decision can be appealed within ten days of the contract being awarded according the Public Procurement Act.
